HKRC Red Décor Day
4,300 staff dress in red to show their support

(Hong Kong.12 August 2010) The corporate fundraising campaign of Hong Kong Red Cross Red Décor Day 2010 is held for its second year today in the offices of 69 corporations with more than 4,300 corporate staff participate to enjoy “Fun in Red” in bringing out the Red humanitarian spirit. Each participant, by making a donation of HK$30 or above and dress in red with the Red Décor Day limited edition commemorative sticker, showed their support to the humanitarian services of Hong Kong Red Cross.

Red Décor Photographic Competition   Vote via FACEBOOK Fan Page

Alongside with the Red Décor Day is the Red Décor Photographic Competition. Today participants can take photos amongst each other in the dress of red and upload to Facebook Fan Page of Red Décor Day on or before 19th August for joining the Competition to win fabulous prizes, including digital camera, trendy mobile phone and MP3 player etc. They are welcome to call friends and vote for their entries via Facebook and be “The Most Favorite Photo on Facebook” to win an iPhone speaker. Deadline for voting is 3 September 2010. Results of Red Décor Photographic Competition will be announced on 8 September while winning entries will be uploaded to the campaign website (www.redcross.org.hk/web/redday10) for viewing in by late September 2010.

The Red Décor Day
Red Décor Day is held on 12 August in commemoration in commemoration of the Four Geneva Conventions adapted on 12 August 1949, which confer neutrality to Red Cross in 194 affiliated countries to deliver humanitarian services in protecting human life and dignity around the world.

Convention (I) for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field
Convention (II) for the Amelioration of the Condition of Wounded, Sick and Shipwrecked Members of Armed Forces at Sea
Convention (III) relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War
Convention (IV) relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War
