The 21st Red Cross International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot 2023
Hong Kong
8 - 11th March, 2023
Introduction
The IHL Moot is an inter-university law moot competition open to law schools in the Asia-Pacific Region. Being one of the annual highlights of the Red Cross, the competition is being held for its 21st time with the persistent assistance and support from universities and legal professionals in the local and international communities. Through preparing memorials for and arguing on IHL problems based on a hypothetical case scenario, students are expected to raise their awareness on IHL and deepen their knowledge of its rules and application, so as to breed themselves into future leaders with humanitarian vision and build a humanitarian society.
Objectives
- Raise awareness of international humanitarian issues among law students
- Enhance knowledge and application of international humanitarian law (IHL) rather than black letter law
- Promote the spirit of humanity among law students in the Asia-Pacific region
- Promote understanding on the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
