Africa Food Crisis 2017

The recent food crisis has deteriorated during the past few months. As of to-date, an estimated 35 million people are in need of urgent food assistance in 11 African countries which includes the worst affected Somalia, Nigeria, South Sudan and Ethiopia. Other countries facing serious situation are Kenya, Cameroon, while Malawi, Namibia, Niger, Zimbabwe and Chad are also affected.

So far, the Hong Kong Red Cross has mobilized HK$1.1 million to support the emergency operations in South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia and deployed personnel to support the Africa operations. People who are threatened by the food crisis in Africa are waiting for your helping hands desperately, please support the Red Cross to continue our life-saving humanitarian operations at the front line.
