Elderly Service Donation Scheme
According to the 2021 Census and Statistics Department survey, in 2023, individuals aged 65 and above accounted for 21% of Hong Kong's population (approximately 1.57 million people). By 2046, it is projected that those aged 65 and above will constitute 36% of the population (approximately 2.74 million people), meaning that more than one in three Hong Kong residents will be elderly. Currently, there are 188,569 single elderly households and 147,091 elderly couple households across the city.
With the ever-increasing demand of elderly services in the community. The HKRC, thus, launched the "Elderly Service Donation Scheme" aimed to solicit support from the public to help our development of diversify elderly services.
We sincerely invite you to join hands with the Hong Kong Red Cross in supporting the development of various elderly services. Your contributions will help us drive the development of services in an aging society. The funds raised through this program will be used to support the development of elderly services by the Hong Kong Red Cross, providing diverse and high-quality services to meet the needs of our aging population.
