The 15th Anniversary of “Pass-it-On Campaign”
Share “Love & Care” across the World by “Love & Found”!

(Hong Kong.5 November 2017) The Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) annual fundraising campaign, “Pass-it-On” (the Campaign) is stepping into its 15th anniversary with a theme “Love & Found”. Chief Ambassador, Mr. Alex Fong and the Campaign icon, “Reddie Bear” led us travelling to the past, tracing the humanitarian footprints of the HKRC, and exploring more love and care experiences in the future.

The two-and-a-half-month Campaign is officially launched today. General public can show their support by donation, purchasing the two iconic items -“Reddie Bear Travel Bag” and “Reddie Bear Necker Cushion” for your loved ones, or supporting the Gifted Bear Program in which you can purchase and re-gift the “Reddie Bear Necker Cushion” to the underprivileged population across the world via the HKRC network.

Addressing the kick-off ceremony, Mr. Ambrose Ho, Director of the HKRC, expressed his gratitude for the enormous support from different sectors of the society for the Campaign over the years, “The Campaign is now stepping into its 15th anniversary, which is a special occasion for celebration. Under the theme of “Love & Found”, we aim at sharing with you HKRC’s humanitarian services since its establishment. We invite you to extend love to the people in need by supporting the HKRC. Your support and effort are essential to the development of our humanitarian works.”

Mr. Alex Fong continues to be the Campaign’s Chief Ambassador and shared his feeling, “I feel honoured for having participated in this meaningful event for years. This Year, Reddie Bear and I will disguise into time travellers and lead you through every love and care moment of the HKRC’s humanitarian works. Come and join us to bring warmth and hope to the people in need!”

To echo with the theme, “Love & Found – Time Travel Exploration Day” was held after the ceremony. Hundreds of local citizens joined as teams to race in the activity day. They may know more about the humanitarian works of the HKRC, including local disaster relief service, tracing service, first aid service and blood transfusion service. Chief Ambassador Mr. Alex Fong took lead to participate in the first mission. Moreover, participants competed for the “Best Scoring Award”, “Best Timing Award” and “Best Styling Award”. Proceeds raised in the activity day will support the humanitarian works of the HKRC.

About “Pass-it-On” Campaign
Since the first launch in 2003, “Pass-it-On” Campaign aims to raise funds in support the humanitarian works of the Hong Kong Red Cross and to promote the “Share and Care” spirit amongst people. This charity campaign has become one of the HKRC’s signature annual fundraising events. It encourages people to care not only for their families and friends, but also for those close and afar who are less fortunate and in need. It emphasises the power of joining hands, that when we all put ourselves together, an enormous loving power can be accumulated to help the underprivileged population. It is a fundraising campaign that relies on this “pass-it-on effect” amongst people to spread the “share and care” spirit.
